Providing scholarship grants to Children of

 California Department of Fish & Wildlife Employees.

In order for your Initial Application to be considered you must meet the following eligibility requirements.

Eligibility

1)  Child of an current California Department of Fish & Wildlife employee
2)  Must be a graduating high school senior or college student
3)  Must submit a completed application along with the required Letters of Recommendation


Selection Criteria

1)  GPA “B” or above throughout High School
2)  GPA “B” or above for college student
3)  GPA “B” or above for Scholarship renewal
4) One letter of recommendation from a school employeesuch as a teacher, counselor, coach, etc.
5)  One letter of recommendation from a community member, not school or family related.
6) Essay of Career/Goals: Must be 1page, double spaced, 1/2 inch margins, size 12 font.

After receipt of the initial scholarship, recipients may apply for subsequent scholarship renewal. 

Renewal Requirements

 
Previous scholarship recipients are eligible for renewal of a scholarship, under the following conditions;
 
  • Renewal applicants must submit an application, by checking the ‘renewal’ box on the application
  • All eligibility and selection criteria for scholarship renewal are the same as an initial application with the exception of:

    • If a successful applicant seeks renewal of a grant, he or she will not be considered ineligible merely because the applicant’s parent is no longer employed by the Department.

    • Future employment will not be used as a qualification for eligibility.
